Hyatt Allen “Al” Pope, 82, of Ardmore, AL, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Huntsville Hospital on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 3:17pm in the afternoon. Al was born on May 8, 1943 to Frank & Cordie Pope of Giles County, TN.
Al is preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by two sisters, Shelby Owens and Barbara Ann Kelly, his wife, Sandra Pope, his daughter Angie Sharp (Todd), his son Jeff Pope (Diana), and his two granddaughters Erin Coffman (Josh) and Anna Lewis (Michael).
Al enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, spending time with his dog (Cocoa), and visiting with his children and grandchildren. On most mornings, you could find him at Ardmore Park eating a biscuit in his truck and feeding the local squirrels. He loved nature. He also enjoyed playing dominoes at the Ardmore Senior Center.
Al will be laid to rest graveside on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 11:00 am at Hasting Cemetery in Ardmore, Alabama.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home will be assisting the family with services.
