HUNTSVILLE (HSV) Announces Major Improvements in Baggage Delivery

Huntsville international airportHUNTSVILLE – Huntsville International Airport (HSV) today
announced that the average delivery time for customer’s bags upon arriving at the
airport has improved by 27 percent year over year. This improvement means all
carriers at HSV currently exceed the airport’s goal of no more than 15 minutes for bag
delivery on average.

The average time in December 2013 was just under 12 minutes as compared to more than
16 minutes for the same period in both 2012 and 2011 [See chart]. Airport officials
attribute these results to new voluntary customer service standards and incentives for the
airlines.

“It has always been important that the airport reflect this community’s first-class image.
Just over a year ago we celebrated a brand-new, state-of-the-art baggage claim area,” said
Rick Tucker, Port of Huntsville executive director. “Now we can couple our new
facilities with top-notch customer service, which enhance everyone’s experience as they
travel through HSV.”

The $25.9-million baggage claim area improvement project was completed in December
2012.
