Hubert Ray Dawson Sr. age 70 of Leighton AL. passed away Friday December 9, 2016 .
Visitation will be Sunday, December 11 ,2016 from 5-7pm at Colbert Memorial Chapel, Service will be Monday, December 12, 2016 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel, with burial to follow in Hardshell Cemetery in Lawrence County. Brother Donnie Smith will be officiating. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elsie Dawson and nephew Dustin Parker. Survivors are his wife of 50 years, Evelyn Dawson, son Ray Dawson (Stacy), daughter Kristie Naylor (Darrell). Also, brothers Melvin Dawson, Kenneth Dawson (Gail), sisters Betty Mardis (Bobby), Martha Abernathy (Bob), Emily Parker (Harold), Carolyn Maness (Charles), Nancy Hall (Junior), Ouida Wilson (Mike), Regina Osborn (Curtis). His surviving grandchildren are Stacey Ray Dawson, Adam Dawson, Ariel Naylor, Jacob Naylor, and Ariana Naylor. He also has 4 great grandchildren Paisley, Sawyer, Ayden, Walker Dawson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers: Stacey Ray Dawson, Adam Dawson, Bradley Collier, Craig Maness, and Brian Campbell. Honorary Pallbearers: Jacob Naylor and Shawn Hacker.
He was a member of Harmony Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed raising animals, tending to his garden, working on cars and also watching drag racing. He was retired from Reynolds after 28 years of service.
He was a loving husband , father, brother and Pawpaw.
