Hubert Dink “Bump” Smith Sr. – Obituary

Hubert Dink “Bump” Smith Sr., 91, passed away on Monday, Jan. 26, 2015. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II.

The family will receive friends for visitation today, 6-9 p.m., at Colbert Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral services will be held on Thursday at Colbert Memorial Funeral Home at 1 p.m. with Brother Rick Oberheide officiating.

Mr. Smith was a native of Riverton, Alabama and resided in Tuscumbia, Alabama where he could be seen most days sitting on his porch enjoying the day.

He was preceded in death by wife, Imogene Smith, parents, Dink Smith and Emmer Smith, brothers, Frank, Joe, and Walter Smith, sister, Ruth Matthews, and son, Jimmy Smith.

He is survived by a sister, Corky Smith McKinney; sons, Dink Smith (wife, Linda) and Tommy Smith (wife, Debbie); seven grandchildren, Hugh Smith, Jason Smith, William Smith, Christopher Smith, Tanya Smith Wahl, Lindsey Sizemore, and Jamie Smith; and six great-grandchildren, Nicolette Smith, Emma Smith, Morgan Smith, Halen Smith, Jordan Wahl, and Kendyl Wahl.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Hugh, Jason, William, and Christopher Smith, and friends, Rush Shirley and Alex “Worm” Southern.
