Hoyt Wayne Evans, 86, Muscle Shoals, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. Visitation will be Friday, May 24, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Paul Dietz officiating. Interment will be in New Bethel Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Hoyt was a protective and loving father. He was a lifelong resident of the Shoals and a devout Jehovah’s Witness. Hoyt was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired from Reynolds as a highly awarded machinist. He had a beautiful singing voice and a great sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Hoyt is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Irene Evans; children, Darlene Faulkner, David Evans (Jane), Michelle Johnson (Steve), and Jennifer Goodman (Doug); eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Steve Johnson, Bobby Newton, Gavin Cummins, Mason Cummins, and Jimmy Bates.
