Horace W. Hubbard passed away peacefully on the evening of January 19, 2025, at 90 years old. He was born in Marshall County, Alabama, on December 18, 1934. Horace was married to his sweetheart Irene M. Hubbard for 66 years.
Horace worked for Stevens Oil until he opened his service station, where he served the community for 17 years. After retiring, he started farming and worked until this past season.
He was a member of the Owens Cross Roads Church of Christ. He loved the Lord and his church family. He loved to hunt with family and friends. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and friend. He loved people, and he gave the best hugs in the world.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lize Hubbard; wife, Irene M. Hubbard; son, Horace Wayne Hubbard; and daughter-in-law, Anita Hubbard.
Surviving are daughter, Mary (Richard) Swagert; sons, Terry (Barbara) Hubbard, Jerry Hubbard, and Danny (Connie) Hubbard; brother, Buddy (June) Hubbard; sister, Lola Bryant; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Friday at 2:00 PM with Bro. Harold Kelly officiating. Pallbearers will be Bo Brooks, Richard Swagert, Greg Meeks, Phillip Ikard, Alan Michael Bates, and Ben Gordon.
Interment will be in Walker Cemetery.
