DECATUR-The Decatur Police Department investigating a theft charge arrested one man who was doing work at the residence involed in the theft. Here is how the Decatur Police describe the arrest:
SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
“On September 7th, 2014, a resident of the 1800 block of Enolam Blvd, filed a theft report with the Decatur Police Department. The victim stated that over the past several months she has noticed several pieces of jewelry along with gold and silver coins were missing from the residence.
During the course of the investigation the victim’s private contractor, Joseph Campanile, was identified as a suspect. On September 8th, 2014 it was discovered that Campanile sold the victim’s jewelry and coins to Mr. Gold on 6th Ave. SE in Decatur.
On that same day Campanile was located and brought to the Decatur Police Department. Subsequent to the investigation, Campanile was charged with Theft of Property in the 1st Degree. Campanile was booked into the Decatur City Jail and transferred to the Morgan County jail on a $5,000.00 bond.
Theft of Property in the 1st Degree is a Class B Felony”
