Hester Inez Newcomb Funeral service for Hester Inez Newcomb, 91 of Burnsville, MS are set for Sunday, September 27, 2020 at 2:00pm at Magnolia Funeral Home – East with interment in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, September 26, 2020 from 5:00pm-8:00pm and Sunday, September 27, 2020 from 1:00pm until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home – East. Born August 3, 1929 in Burnsville, MS., Hester passed away on Friday, September 25, 2020 at her home in Burnsville. She was a retired line operator for ITT with 25 years of service. Hester was of the Church of Christ faith and a member of Burnsville Church of Christ. She loved working in her flower garden and yard, quilting, going to church and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Hester is survived by her son, Chester Wayne Newcomb and wife Glenda of Iuka; her daughter, Linda Ruth Rickman and husband Jeff of Corinth; 3 grandchildren, Mandie Nicole Wilbanks and husband Josh, Stephanie DeVaney and husband Carl and Brook Wallace and husband Wyatt; 8 great grandchildren, Elsie Jewel Wilbanks, Nathaniel Cole Wilbanks, Autry Nicole Wilbanks, Jessie Lane Wilbanks, Landon Wallace, Shelby Wallace, Allie DeVaney and Avery DeVaney; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Chester V. Newcomb; son, David Wayne Newcomb; one grandson, John Wayne Rickman; father, John H. Spoon; mother, Doskie Lee Blakney Spoon; brothers, Clifford Spoon and Kenneth Spoon, and sisters, Elease Epperson, Virginia Newcomb and Imogene Thrasher. Minister Rick Jones and Gary Orick will officiate the service. Mike Spoon, Charles Benick , Josh Wilbanks, Ronald Seaton, Wyatt Wallace and Carl DeVaney will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Landon Wallace, Avery DeVaney and Nathaniel Wilbanks. Magnolia Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Hester Inez Newcomb.
