Herbert Wilson Bradford, age 95, died Sunday evening at Jackson General Hospital.
He was born and reared in Nashville, the Old Hickory Boulevard area, the son of the late Edward G. and Sadie Bradford. He went to school in Nashville and served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WW II.
He married Marjorie Martin and they made their home in Nashville where Mr. Bradford worked at E.L. Geistman Company for forty two years, retiring as parts foreman in 1984.
He moved to Henderson in 2001 to make his home near his son Frank.
He loved to fish, cook and watch Nascar Racing. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
Mr. Bradford was a member of the Estes Church of Christ.
He was survived by a son, Frank Bradford and wife Susan of Henderson; grandchildren; Olivia Archambault, Brittany Bradford, Clifton Laird, Sarah Laird and Emily Laird, great-grandchild, Isla Drew Bledsoe, and sisters; Maxine Roberts of Franklin, Betty Jean Bradford of Nashville and Virginia Nalls of Madison, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 2000, two brothers; Edward Bradford and Leonard Bradford, four sisters; Ollie Belle Wells, Ruby Yeargin, Alberta Bradford and Marie Phirerger and a daughter in-law Beverly Howell Bradford in 2007.
Funeral services will be at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel and burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Nashville, TN.
