Henry Walker “Red” Farris, age 69, resident of Haley Lane in Columbia, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on September 20, 2023. He was born May 27, 1954, to the late Joe Whiteside Farris and Stella Mae Hinson.
He attended Hampshire Schools and was a long-time employee of Superior Essex in Franklin, Tennessee.
He was added to the body of Christ at an early age.
His memory will be cherished by his daughters, Mindy Kay Farris and Dorothy Jobeth Farris. His legacy lives on through his six grandchildren: Tristan (Madison) Whitfield, Mason Farris, Brandle M. “BJ” Lane, Jaycie McClenic, Sofia McClenic, and Jalil McClenic; and two great-grandchildren: Ensley and Emersyn Whitfield. He is also survived by his siblings: Pam Farris (Tom) Wilson, and Timothy Whiteside Farris; nephews: Scott Johnson, Tommy Wilson, and Terry Joe Farris; and nieces: Janna Johnson, Jessica Farris, and Brandy Cothran; and stepdaughter: Ginger Smith.
In addition to his parents, Walker is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Ricky Whitfield, and stepson, Jay Goatz.
The family will be receiving friends and visitors on Monday, September 25, 2023, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM. To follow, Walker will be laid to rest at Edwards Cemetery in Hampshire, Tennessee.
Honorary pallbearers are employees of Superior Essex.
