Henry Augustus Robertson, 90, went to be with his eternal Lord and Savior early Wednesday morning, July 18, 2018, at his home in Tupelo. Henry was born February 13, 1928 to the late Hyram Ellis and Minnie Lee Mitchell Robertson in Hinds County, Mississippi. Henry was a third-class petty officer after serving in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1948 and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal. Henry always worked and provided for his family. He worked for Blue Bell in Tupelo and Booneville for 10 years. He later owned and operated Robertson Realty for several years before joining Hancock Fabrics as a Real Estate representative where he worked until his retirement.
Bro. Robertson was a Master Mason, member of the Scottish Rite and a Shriner. Henry was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church for 56 years where he also served as a Deacon.
He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Quay Williams Robertson; 2 children Maria Benson (Bill) of Brewer and Mike Robertson (Penny) of Blue Springs; 3 grandchildren, Lauren Milstead (John), Jeremy Robertson (Shae), Rachel Alford (Neil) and four great-grandchildren Ethan, Mia, Will Henry, and Holt; his cat, Bo Robertson. Henry also leaves behind a very special group of life-long friends, his supper club of over 46 years; Dot & Troy Maxcy, Alice & CW Jackson, Lynette & Buddy Miller, Gene Freeman and the late Jean Freeman, Margaret and the late Adolph Duncan, a special friend, Hazel Roberts.
The family wants to thank his caregiver, Suzie Partlow, the entire staff and nurses at Legacy Hospice, Oxford Home Health, and the late Mr. Andy Anderson for his faithful weekly visits.
Services, with military honors, will be at 11 AM, Friday, July 20, 2018 in the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Dr. Forrest Sheffield and Bro. David Smith officiating. Private burial will be held in the Ellistown Cemetery near Blue Springs. Visitation will be Friday from 9 AM to service time.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Supper Club of 46 years, Dot and Troy Maxcy, Alice and C.W. Jackson, Lynette and Buddy Miller, Gene Freeman, and Margaret Duncan.
