Helen Morris Fears, 84, died Friday, August 17, 2012 at Southern Magnolia Estates in Golden, MS. She was born July 8, 1928 in Madison County, AL. She was a minister’s wife who served along with her husband, Rev. William E. Fears in Red Bay, Lexington, Attala, Piedmont, Roanoke and retired in Hokes Bluff.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 20, at Cameron United Methodist Church Cemetery in Gurley, AL with Rev. Billy L. York officiating. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Al. will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are three children-Teresa Fears of Red Bay, Donald Fears (Anne) of Decatur, GA and Neil Fears (Deborah Bailey) of New Orleans, LA; two grandchildren-Joseph Fears (Fiance-Catie Sonnier) and Chase Fears; one brother-Aubrey Morris of Kernersville, NC; sister-in-law-Mary Morris of Huntsville; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents-Thomas and Iris Johnson Morris; one brother-Thomas Morris Jr. and one sister-Janie Blackburn.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, August 19, at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
