Mrs. Helen Lindsey, age 77, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023, at her home in Lexington surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. She was born January 7, 1946 in Lexington to the late Pauline Scott Lindsey. She retired after 39 years as secretary at South Side Elementary School. She was a devoted member of Shiloh Baptist Church, a devoted mother and “Mammie’, and served many years with Fire Dept. #9. Survivors include her husband of over 59 years, Mr. Ellis Lindsey; two daughters, Carol Mooney (Doug) and Kimberly Hopper (Chris); two brothers, James Lindsey and Jimmy Lindsey; five grandchildren, Lindsey Downing (Walt), Lauren Bailey (Jackson), Logan Mooney, John Luke Hopper, and Lawson Hopper; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Doris Ann Lindsey and one brother, Michael Lindsey.
Funeral services are scheduled for 4 PM, Sunday, August 6, 2023 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hare Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, 1 – 9 PM and on Sunday 10 AM until time of service.
