Graveside services for Mr. Woody Tubbs, age 80, are scheduled for 3 PM, Sunday, August 6, 2023 at Darden Cemetery.
Mr. Tubbs passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023 in Lexington. He was born November 8, 1942 in Darden to the late Jethro and Bethelene Wood Tubbs. He served in the National Guard, was a life-long farmer and an engineer, retiring from MagneTek and later working at Johnson Controls. As a member of First Baptist Church in Lexington, he especially enjoyed his Sunday School Class. Mr. Tubbs loved all sports and was a Tennessee Vols and St. Louis Cardinals fan. He loved his grandchildren dearly and always enjoyed vacations to find family history.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Mrs. Carolynn Tubbs; his children, Jay Tubbs, LeAnn Tubbs Powers, Steven David Rogers (Tiffany) and Susan Ann Rogers; his brother, Harold Tubbs; his sister, Wanda Mooney (Noel); three grandchildren, Margaret Shelby Wilson, Clint Powers, and Lakeland Tubbs; one great grandchild, Rylan Wilson; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Fisher Tubbs.
The family will receive friends at Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington on Saturday 2-8 PM and on Sunday, 12 – 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be sent to Darden Cemetery Association.
