Helen Emogene O’Neill, age 84 of Ashville, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 at her residence.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Holy Church of Christ, she will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Bro. Waymon Ashley and Dewayne West will officiate. The family requests that masks be worn for visitation and services.
Mrs. O’Neill was preceded in death by her Father-Verbon West; Mother-Alene West Guthrie; Husband-Patrick O’Neill; Sisters-Carolyn Spears and Nell Uptain Snelgrove.
She is survived by her Daughter-Karel O’Neill Cantrell (Frank); Sons-Jim O’Neill, Ken O’Neill (Jimmie) and Todd O’Neill (Gina); Sister-Martha Uptain (Allen); Brothers-Mackie West (Jean) and Fredric West (Judy); Grandchildren-Jacob O’Neill, Steven O’Neill, Dustin O’Neill, Trish Garmon, Kristine Gardner Chiarella, Shawn O’Neill, Nathaniel Cantrell, Marcus Thomas, Jordan Hill, Shane O’Neill and Dakota O’Neill; 11 Great Grandchildren.
