She was a member of Pine Hill Church of Christ, a Christian lady who loved God, family, neighbors and friends with all her heart.
On December 18, 1948 she married the love of her life, Harold Haddock, also deceased. She and Harold spent countless hours of cooking, baking, fundraising, and hard labor to help build the Cloverdale Community Center. She still quilted at the Center on Monday’s and everyone enjoyed her many delicious dishes at the monthly RSVP Luncheon. She was famous for her Amish Cookies, fried pies and Black Walnut Cake. Her home was open many years to students away from home attending IBC (Heritage). She and Harold made lasting friends with these students as they became ministers, husbands, and fathers. They have kept in touch and visited Hazel often.
In addition to her parents and husband, also preceding her were her sisters, Vival Dodd and Opal Lewis.
Survivors are her daughter, Shelia Klein (Herb) of San Antonio, TX and their son David of Fairfax, VA; son, Albert (Lucy), of Florence, AL and Albert’s daughter Robin Brogdon (Vince), great-grandsons Dylan and Logan, Evans, GA; Lucy’s daughter Alexandra Wiggett (Paul) and Jennifer Lynch (Tom) of Worcester, England. Sisters, Delphia Montgomery (Gene), Cypress Inn, TN and Bassel Miles, Tony Al; also numerous nieces and nephews.
We will always love you, think of you and miss you. You set a loving example of how we all should live our life.
A special thank you to the staff of Alacare Hospice, Jewel South Landrum and her family, Carolyn and Gary Gilliland and the many friends and neighbors who were supportive during this time.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Alacare Hospice.
