Hazel  Inez Kennedy Schissler, 90, died Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Sanctuary Hospice House after a brief illness.  Hazel was born in Parkin, Ark. on Septemper 28, l928 to the late Hal Presley and Maude Mask Presley.  She came to Mississippi at age one to live with her aunt and uncle, Floyd and Flossie Mask in the Verona area.  She graduated from Verona High School in l946 where she was a standout basketball player.  Hazel’s working career included 30 years at Blue Bell as a seamstress, 20 years at Rockwell International as a machine operator and 10 years as a seamstress for Mississippi Samples.  Work was an important part of her life but she managed to take up golf and was a member of the Pontotoc Country Club.  She was a longtime faithful member of the Brewer United Methodist Church until her health failed.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 11 AM Friday, June 21, 2019 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Rev. Chad Bowen officiating.  Private burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park.  Visitation will be from 10 AM-service time on Friday only a  Holland-Tupelo Chapel which is honored to be serving their friends.

Survivors include her brother; Charlie Mask (Barbara) of Plantersville.  2 sisters; Gloria Mask Dallas of Tupelo and Regina Lawson of Tallahassee, Fla.  A host of nieces and nephews included special nephews; John, Coleman, Colin and Joseph Kennedy and nieces; Julie Kennedy, Amy Forrest and Paula Dallas; her extended family from the Brewer Community and other friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Schissler in 2009 and her first husband, Joe Sam Kennedy; her parents, uncles, aunts, cousins and 5 siblings.
