ATHENS-If you are looking for something to do and enjoy the moth of April, then you need to come to Athens.  Here are just a few fun events that the city of Athens is offering in the month of April.

Tuesday, April 8, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Applebee’s
Hosted by the City of Athens Relay for Life Team. Mayor Ronnie Marks, Council members Jimmy Gill, Joseph Cannon and Chris Seibert, Sheriff Mike Blakely, Athens-Limestone Hospital CEO Kelli Powers, Circuit Court Clerk Brad Curnutt, local actor Frank Travis and Athens City Schools Executive Director Terry Roller will compete to see who can earn the most tips for the American Cancer Society.health

Athens-Limestone Hospital Health Fair on The Square
Saturday, April 12, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., downtown Athens
Hospital staff will conduct free body fat analysis, blood sugar and cholesterol checks, bone density screenings and more. Heather care providers will share information about the hospital’s community services. The hospital also will accept donations of water/nonperishable food items at Athens State University’s Center for Lifelong Learning on Marion Street. These items will go to the Limestone County Churches Involved food bank.

fraudBBB Fraud Summit
Saturday, April 12, noon to 2 p.m., Rodgers Center at First Presbyterian
The Better Business Bureau in partnership with Athens-Limestone Hospital will host free event after hospital’s Heath Fair. Lunch will be served. In the event of inclement weather, the Health Fair will be canceled. The Fraud Summit will be held rain or shine. Pre-registration required for the Fraud Summit by calling the BBB at 256-355-5170.our town

Our Town Series
Tuesday, April 15, 1:30-2:30 p.m., Center for Lifelong Learning on Marion St.
Sponsored by Athens State University Center for Lifelong Learning Join us for pie and discussion as we get to know our city better. April’s topic is Planning the City’s Future with Mac Martin, city planner. Find out what it takes to recruit retailers and grow our city. $5 free includes pie.

Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Big Spring Memorial Park
Free event with activities, exhibitors, information, door prizes, food, presentations, live critters and lots of fun! Call 256-233-8728 for more info.cars and bikes
Cars and Bikes on The Square
Saturday, April 26, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., downtown Athens
Lou Santiago of Car Fix, Team Hammer and McCormick Racing will attend. Open to all specialty vehicles and motorcycles. Public can view for free. Call Tom Schuman at 256-457-9179.
