Gwendolyn Martin Holland, 89, passed away Monday, December 1, 2025 at North Ms. Medical Center, Tupelo, MS. She was born in Red Bay, AL and worked in garment manufacturing. Gwen was a member of Atwood Baptist Church and loved to crochet, making afghans for her grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday, December 4, 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Nathan Davidson officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, December 4, 11-2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL. Burial will be in Atwood Baptist Church Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Mitchell (Roy) and Paula Creekmore (Stevey); three grandchildren, Dusty Mitchell (Aronia), Chasity Hood (Kyle Crumpton) and Lorrie Hood (Kyle Henry) and four great-grandchildren, Abbie Mitchell, Mikala Riddle (Camron), Slate Mitchell and Madalyn Butler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Holland and her parents, Claude “C.A.” Martin and Coster Griffus Martin.
Pallbearers will be Dusty Mitchell, Slate Mitchell, Kyle Crumpton, Kyle Henry, Camron Riddle and Keith Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Beard and Bill Beard.
