David Lewis Steele, 70, passed away at his residence in Amory on Monday, December 1, 2025. He was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on July 11, 1955 to the late James and Edith Wooten Steele. David married Patti West on August 27, 1993. He was a longtime truck driver. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed piddling in his shop and being with his grandchildren.
David is survived by his wife, Patti Steele; children, David Lee Steele (Cherie), AR, Vickie N. McDonald (Bryan), OH, John Strevel (Elisha), Vardaman, Joseph R. Strevel (Kara), Greenwood, Michael Eugene Steele, OH, Brandi Taylor (Jason), Gattman, John David Strevel (Emma), Smithville and Cierra Strevel, Amory; 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
David is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 1 brother.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at the family home, located at 104 Northside Dr Amory, MS 38821.
