Guy Cornelius Rickard, 64, of Florence, passed away, Tuesday, May 12, 2026. Visitation will be Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. The graveside funeral service will be Friday, May 15, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Florence City Cemetery with Wayne Wood officiating. Guy worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Lauderdale County road department for 26 years. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and was a member of Hendrix Chapel Church. Guy was preceded in death by his father, L.D. “Sweet” Rickard; mother, Katheryn Gibson; brother, Danny Joe Rickard; and niece, Carrie Rickard Davis.
Guy is survived by his special friend, Laura Biddle; daughter, Kayla Flashner; grandson, Aiden Hollander; brothers, Dow Rickard (Skeeter) and Mike Rickard (Dean); sister-in-law, JoAnn Rickard; special nephews, Bradley Rickard and Andrew Rickard; nieces, Amy Johnson, Amanda Jones, and LaCinda Oyen.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Hall, Drew Brock, Wayne Womble, David Gray, Jerry Mcintyre, and Aiden Hollander. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Lawson, Daniel Bevis, Roger Haddock, Roger Ezekiel, Gary Vaughn and Ricky Perkins.
