Mrs. Grace Imogene Russell, age 87, of Lacey’s Spring, Alabama passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023 at the home of her niece. Mrs. Russell was born August 24, 1935 in Morgan County, Alabama to Marvin Jack Hill and Geneva Ilene Elledge Hill. Grace was married to Benford R. Russell who passed away February of 2015. The two of them were lifelong residents of the Lacey’s Spring community where they attended Calvary Church. Grace had been employed as secretary for the River Side Lumber Company. Grace enjoyed being at home with her family surrounding her. Spending quality time with her family was important to her. She enjoyed her church and was occasionally known to visit a few thrift stores.
Grace is survived by her sister, Karen Putnam (Delmer); and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceding Grace in death are her parents, Marvin and Geneva Hill; husband, Beneford R. Russell; brothers, Dewey Hill, Randy Hill, Danny Hill, and Arthur Hill; sisters, Gail Walling and Fran Morrison.
Services for Grace will include a visitation at Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Morgan City on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Lipscomb Cemetery in Lacey’s Spring. Pallbearers escorting Grace to her final resting place will be Kenneth Duke, Lee Duke, Jesse Duke, Damian Kromis, Timmy Freeman, Shawn McKinney and Bryson McKinney.
