Grace Brakefield On November 4, 2024, Grace C Brakefield passed away peacefully at the age of 87 in Vero Beach, Florida.

Grace was Born on October 6, 1937, In Jefferson County Alabama the daughter of the late Walter Luther Camp and Etha Estelle Camp Wood.

Grace was raised in the Bagley area, and she graduated from Corner High School in 1956. She was a valued employee of ABC Coke/Drummond Coal Company for many years. She was also a dedicated child of God and attended New Temple Baptist Church. At New Temple she served on the hostess committee amongst other volunteer duties where she thrived making lifelong friends.
She traveled extensively with her church family to many places where she enjoyed every new experience and made lasting memories. A very involved and doting grandmother who absolutely loved each of her “little boys” and made them feel special. To say she was an avid Alabama football fan would be a gross understatement. She never missed an opportunity to cheer on her team.

She is survived by her son Bobby Hugh Pearce, her daughter LeAnne Harter (Michael), her brother Tommy G. Camp (Joan) and her sister Virginia McDowell.
Her grandchildren William Palmer (Michelle), Larry G. Pearce, Joshua G. Harter and Adam L. Harter and a Great granddaughter Alma Palmer.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter L. Camp and Etha E. Camp Wood, her son, Billy Ray Pearce, her brothers Luther Anderson Camp, Harmon Robert Camp, and Walter Nolan Camp.
Her sisters, Lillie Ruth Camp Brewer, Mary Lee Camp Whitley, Imogene Camp McDowell and Ella Francis Camp Davis.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 18, 2025, at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home at 3:00pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
