It is with profound sadness and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Glenda Richardson, who passed away on October 14, 2025, at the age of 65.
Born in Tuscumbia, Alabama, to Robert and Christine Burks, Glenda was the cherished mother of John-David and Maggie Richardson. She was known for her unwavering strength, love, resilience — and the best homemade biscuits you’d ever have.
Glenda is survived by her children, Maggie and John-David, her daughter-in-law, Emily, and her stepmother, Shelby Burks. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Burks; her mother, Christine Coan Burks; and her mother-in-law, Carline Richardson.
There will not be a public ceremony or services, but we encourage you to honor her life in the way that feels best for you. Share stories, celebrate her life, and find comfort in your friends and family. As she will be cremated, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to SafePlace of Northwest Alabama, to help women and families in need of escaping domestic violence.
We find solace in knowing that our mother is now at peace, surrounded by the love she gave to us all, and the unwavering courage and strength that defined her every moment.
