Gladys Blankenship Luallen – Obituary

Graveside Service for Gladys Blankenship Luallen, 85, will be Sunday, December 9, 2012, at 2 p.m., at Union Hill Cemetery, with Jim Bryant officiating and Elliott’s Brown Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Luallen, who died on Thursday, December 6, 2012, was born on May 1, 1927, in Lawrence County to Elbert Blankenship and Ethel Wilkerson Blankenship. She was a long standing member of Aldridge Grove Church of Christ. She volunteered at NHC Nursing Home and Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. She was one of the founding members of the Historical Society and Archives of Lawrence County. She was preceded in death by her son, Monta Luallen; her husband, Herman Luallen; and two sisters, Agnes Dutton and Lee Jones.

She is survived by her son, Roger Luallen (Monica) of Moulton; daughter, Brenda Hedges (George) of Haleyville; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Clara Yarbrough and Christine Powers (Troy) both of Moulton; brother, Starlin Blankenship (Ruth) of Moulton; and a host of neices and nephews.
