Geraldine Ward Bass, age 78 of Decherd, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at Erlanger Medical Center. She was born in Huntsville, Alabama on May 31, 1941 to the late George Washington and Annie Lou (Norman) Ward. A dedicated homemaker, Geraldine enjoyed tending to her home and yard, but most of all spending time with her family. She was a devoted member of Oak Grove Church of Christ and treasured the time she spent reading her Bible and studying the word of Christ. In addition to her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wayne Bass; and sisters, Muriel Ward Ross, and Betty Ward Dockery; and brothers, Gayle Ward, Dale Ward, and Kenneth Ward. She is survived by her loving children, Rocky Bass of Huntsville, and Thomas and Danna Bowman Bass of Nashville; granddaughter, Anna Jane Bass; and brothers, Thomas Ward of Winchester, Bill Ward of Fayetteville, and Dwight Ward of Winchester. The family will gather at 1:00 pm on Sunday, March 29, 2020 for graveside services at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
