Ms. Geraldine Marie Perkins, age 70, of Huntsville, Alabama, formerly of Arab, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at her residence. Born on February 3, 1956, in Marshall County, Alabama, Marie was the daughter of Leonard Perkins and Geraldine Shannon Perkins. She was employed by Comtronix Electric, where she worked in the assembly and production department.
Marie loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She never met a stranger and had a special gift for making new friends wherever she went. She enjoyed walking and was often seen strolling through the neighborhood. In her younger years, she also loved to dance, a joy that remained a part of her life.
Marie is survived by her son, Shannon Hayes; her daughter, Jennifer Mooneyham (Terry); her grandchildren, Cody Hayes (Courtney), Zach Mooneyham, America Hayes, and Abbey Mooneyham; and her great-grandchildren, Kasen Byrd and Gavin Hayes.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Perkins and Geraldine Shannon Perkins.
Services for Marie will be Friday, May 22, 2026 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Visitation is planned for 9:00am with the funeral service immediately following at 11:00am. Brother Randy L. Blakely will officiate. Burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery with Cody Hayes, Zach Mooneyham, Derik Leigeber, Jebediah Rogers, Preston Stroud and Shannon Hayes serving as pallbearers. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
