Graveside Memorial Services for Mrs. Geraldine B. “Jackie” Watts, age 98 of Lineville, were held on Saturday, July 10, 2020 at 5:00 P.M. at Oak Grove Methodist Church Cemetery with Janice Watts Yates, MDiv officiating.
Mrs. Watts passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2020 at Clay County Nursing Home. Born in Clay County, she was a Lineville High School graduate in 1939. She spent a few years in Anniston before moving back to Clay County in 1983. She was an office manager at Ledbetter Transfer, Co. as the head bookkeeper. Mrs. Watts was a loving and caring person; if you ever went to visit her at home, you never left empty handed. Whether it was her wonderful pecan pies or tea biscuits, you always left with food. She loved to sew, quilt and needle work. She was a big collector that loved camping, square dancing and traveling all over the United States with her husband, Milton. She was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church as well as Inter Se.
She is survived by her son, Robert Milton Watts (Joann) of Decatur, GA; two grandchildren: Robert Clay Watts of Tucker, GA and Janice Watts Yates, MDiv (Andy) of Decatur, GA; five grandchildren: Sullivan, Harrison and Mitchell Yates and Ginny and Theo Yates; a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Emmett and Rosa Lee Sims Ballard; her husband, Milton Floyd Watts; and three sisters: Alma McCoy, Sue McCoy and Lucille Carroll.
The family requests no flowers, instead memorial contributions to be made to Oak Grove Methodist Cemetery Fund at P.O. Box 305 Lineville, AL 36266.
