Gerald Hodge, 85, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at his residence. He was a member and Deacon for many years at New Prospect Baptist Church, and was an U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was also a member of the local VFW and the American Legion. He owned and operated Hodge Lift Truck Service, and was an expert in his field. He enjoyed fishing, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Doug Christie. Interment will follow in New Prospect Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for 4 until 8 PM on Friday, January 22 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sybil Turner Hodge of Iuka; 1 son – Steven Hodge of Iuka; 1 daughter – Sharon Lynn Hodge Kinder (Stewart) of Houston, TX; 1 brother – Bobby Hodge (Wilma) of Iuka; 1 sister – Joanne Ardinger of Iuka; and 3 grandchildren – Luke Kinder (15), Sam Kinder (13), and Hannah Kinder (11). He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Amy Hodge; and three brothers, Hoyt, Harold, and Fred Hodge, Jr. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Prospect Baptist Church Fund.
