Georgia Man Charged With Murder Of Woman Found Dead In Decatur Motel

DECATUR-The Decatur Police Department released a statement concerning the death of a woman on Saturday, July 22:

“On July 22, 2017 at 12 noon Officers with the Decatur Police Department responded to a deceased person call at the Quality Inn located at 2120 Jameson Place SW.
Upon arrival on the scene officers found a B/F later identified as 22-year-old Tiara Cole from Lawrenceville Georgia, deceased.
After speaking with the victim’s family, Decatur Police Department’s Detectives determined that Ms. Cole had traveled to Decatur with a male companion in Cole’s 2003 Toyota Camry.
At some point while in the Hotel room the victim was shot.
Decatur Police Department Detectives put out an all-points bulletin to all law enforcement agencies requesting any information on the 2003 Toyota Camry.
On July 22, 2017 at approximately 11:15pm Decatur Police Department officers received a call from the Gwinnett Co. Georgia Sheriff’s Department stating that they located the Toyota Camry. The Camry was occupied by a B/M named Carey Davis Jr. of Norcross Georgia who immediately invoked his right to counsel due to his involvement in an altercation in Decatur Al.
Mr. Davis was arrested in Georgia on un-related charges. He is currently being held in Gwinnett Co. Jail pending extradition to Decatur Al on a murder charge. Bond set at 250,000 dollars.”
