George Russell Butler, age 55, of Ethridge, TN passed away Monday, August 24, 2026, at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital West in Nashville, TN. He was a native of MO and a self-employed landscaper. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with his family especially his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Edith Cooper Butler; and brother-in-law, Dee Vogel.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy Butler; one daughter, Mallory Nash (Cody Smith); one son, Aaron Nash; two grandchildren, Kairi Smith and Adrian Smith; close nephew, Preston McGee; two brothers, Evel Butler (Barbara) and Michael Price; and two sisters, Donna Hendrix (Brian) and Virgie Vogel.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, August 28, 2026, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 3:00 PM Saturday, August 29, 2026, with Grant Pavy officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN.
