George Landwehr von Pragenau was born January 5, 1927, in Austria and became a US citizen November, 1963. He went to be with the Lord July 11, 2013. Since 1957, he made significant contributions to rocketry in Huntsville, starting with transistor circuitry under General Medaires in Dr. Von Braun’s Guidance Control Lab with Dr. Haeussermann, continuing with key contributions in several projects: the SATURN V and SPACE SHUTTLE, even throughout his retirement. The most important things to him in life were God and his family. He is survived by his wife, Helga, their five daughters (Monica Scarano, Christine Conner, Beatrix von Pragenau, Margareta Webster, Lore Hislop) and their families; his son, Burkhard Landwehr von Pragenau and his family; preceded in death by his son, Georg Landwehr. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at 11:00am, at Saint Mark’s Lutheran Church.
