georgeGeorge Ellis James, age 88, of Lawrenceburg, TN died peacefully at home on Friday, November 08, 2013 after a long illness. He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, a US Marine Corps Veteran during WWII, and a member of Ethridge Church of Christ. He had a varied career, working as a Tennessee Highway Patrolman, a long-haul trucker, a trailer refrigeration expert and a construction foreman.

Seven Grandchildren
Five Great-Grandchildren

One Brother –
Dwight James

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathryn Whitehead James; his parents Philip Isaac James and Ruby Ratcliff James; his brother Neil James; and his sister Novell James Clanton.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, November 11, 2013 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 12, 2013, with Jeremy James officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbia, TN with full military honors. Family suggests memorials be made to Volunteer Hospice.
