George Elliott Patton, age 67, of Tuscumbia, died Wednesday, May 07, 2014. His family will receive friends on Friday, 10-12 p.m. at the Cowboy Church of Colbert County. His funeral service will follow with Pastor Truman Sutton officiating. A private interment will follow in Shoals Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Patton was a Colbert County native and served his country in the U. S. Air Force. He retired after thirty years of service with Bellsouth Telephone Company. George was a past worshipful master of Washington Lodge F & A Masons. He was a member of the Cowboy Church of Colbert County. George loved the outdoors, especially golfing, fishing and duck hunting.
He is survived by his wife of thirty one years, Rebecca Jones “Becky” Patton; daughter, Martha Katherine Guillen and husband Norm of Vestavia; brother, John Patton and wife Linda of League City, TX; grandchildren, Patton Crawford Guillen and Lydia Katherine “Katie” Guillen.
Pallbearers are David Claunch, Mike Gullett, Mike Tirey, Steve Lansdell, Ken Carroll and Terry Pitts.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Ken Collins, Ben Blasingame, Dr. Daniel Wenzl, and Raymond Howard.
