George Daniel “Danny” Carter, age 69, of Lawrenceburg, TN peacefully went to his heavenly home surrounded by loving cousins Wednesday, August 06, 2025, in Lawrenceburg, TN. He was born in Nashville, TN but was a lifelong native of Lawrenceburg, worked for Son Osborne Pet Store starting as a teenager, retired from Goodwill, and was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church. He loved to go to flea markets, and was an avid Braves baseball fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Judge Claude Alexander and Marymaud Killen Carter; aunt, Sarah Killen Whitlow; aunt and caregiver of 20 years, Betty Killen Hall; and cousin, Ronnie Whitlow.
He is survived by his loving cousin and caregiver of 30 years, Connie Austin; cousins, Glenda Reed, Debra Alexander, Jim Tidwell, David Whitlow, and Kenny Whitlow; Bobby Glenn Goff, special friend and caregiver; Chris Austin, a cousin like a brother he never had; and a host of special cousins.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Saturday, August 09, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 3:00 PM Saturday, August 09, 2025, with Dr. Joey Reed of Collierville, TN officiating. Interment will follow at Mimosa Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN.
