Genner Rae Epps Parrish – Obituary

Genner Rae Epps Parrish, 83, died Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Southern Magnolia Assisted Living in Golden, Ms. She was born August 14, 1929 to Elbridge and Annie Malone Epps in Dennis, Ms. She was a member of Hopewell Primitive Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, her flowers and sitting on her porch. Her wit will be missed by all that knew her.

 

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, Ms. with Elder Marshall Boyd, Elder Ricky Taylor, Bro. Jackie Gray and Bro. Tim Hankins officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery, Dennis, Ms. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, Ms. will be in charge of arrangements.

 

Survivors are two daughters – Regina Pardue and husband, Shearl Pardue, Dennis, Ms. and Carol Gates and husband, Brad Gates, Fulton, Ms.; two grandchildren – Haley Gates and Lance Pardue; two sisters – her twin sister – Ortha Mae Brown (T.L.) Greenville, S.C. and Nell Clark, Belmont, Ms.; two brothers – Thurman Epps, Golden, Ms. and Walter Lee Epps, Red Bay, Al. and a host of nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth “Ray” Parrish, a son, Kenny Parrish, her parents and two sisters, Gracie Spearman and Rachel Winchester.

 

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

 

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, Ms. and until service time on Wednesday.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lindsey Cemetery Fund, 270 Second Street, Belmont, Ms. 38827.
