Funeral for Gene Autry Jeffreys, 79, of Danville will be Sunday, June 29, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel wtih Bro. Mark Hicks and Bro. Daniel Gray officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from noon until service time.
Mr. Jeffreys, who died Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born October 7, 1934, in Lawrence County to Horace Daniel Jeffreys and Alpha Stokes Jeffreys. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Prestolite. He was a member of Independent Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Hillsboro. His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Gillespie Jeffreys; one brother, Burles Jeffreys of Moulton; and three sisters, Sabra Stone, Shelby Simmons and Sharon Little, all of Town Creek.
Pallbearers wll be nephews.
