Gary Wayne McKleroy, aged 70, of Lester, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2025, at Huntsville Hospital. Born on August 12th, 1954, in Columbus, Mississippi, he was the son of Luther Lloyd McKleroy and Millie Almeta Kimbrell McKleroy, and Jodie and Betty Jean Kimbrell Crenshaw.
Gary leaves behind a loving family, including his wife, DeRhonda McKleroy. He was a loving father to his four children: Jessica Morgan Ayers with her husband Anthony, Brad Richard McKleroy with his wife Jessie, Jarrod Clark McKleroy with his wife Holly, and Jordan Tyler McKleroy with his wife Lauren. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Michaela Patterson with her husband Alex, Nathan McKleroy, Grayson McKleroy, Kaitlyn Thorn, Bryson McKleroy, Emmalee McKleroy, and Hudson McKleroy, as well as his great-grandchildren, Walker Patterson and Grayson Patterson.
Gary is also survived by his siblings, Marlene Thomas, Glenda Gaither with her husband Donnie, Brenda Meeks with her husband Danny, and Joey Crenshaw with his wife Dionn. His step-father, Jodie Crenshaw, also mourns his passing. Preceding him in death were his parents Luther Lloyd McKleroy, Millie Almeta Kimbrell McKleroy, and Betty Jean Kimbrell Crenshaw.
Gary was an employee of Limestone Chapel Funeral Home and previously served as a service manager at Lynn Layton & Champion Chevrolet, and an operator at Tenneco.
A memorial service to honor Gary Wayne McKleroy’s life will be held on Friday, June 6th, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., led by Alan Ostrzycki. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation prior to the service, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., to pay their respects and share in the celebration of his life.
