Garvin L. “Papa” Payne, 76, of Arab, passed away Thursday.
He loved spending time with MAMA, traveling, riding in the deserts of New Mexico, toddies with friends and family, karaoke, and hand crafting woodwork.
He was preceded in death by father, Calvin Payne; mother, Julie Smallwood; grandmother, Loraine Henderson; aunt, Ellen Ward King; and uncle, John Ward.
Surviving is his wife the love of his life of 36 years, Jackie “Mama” Payne; daughters, Kathy Payne Coker, Darla (Jeff) Farmer, Jackie (Mike) Nailer, Leann Redmon, and Amy Hurtt; son, Ryan (Michelle) Garrett; fur babies, Bandit, Harley, and Maggie; sister, Elaine (Delbert) Copeland; brotherly friends, Ricky (Jan) Humphries, and Wayne Cox; grandchildren, Tasha Biddle, Dustin Fuller, Daniel Farmer, Olivia Farmer, Ryley (Chealsea) Farmer, Logan Farmer, Britney (Emily) Hight, Kalyn (Dylan) Nailer, Drake (Kristen) Song, Derek Song, Harlin Redmon, Brodie Hurtt, Emma Knight, Jastin Garrett, Jordan Garrett, Ryleyshell Garrett, and Rylan Garrett, and a host of great grandchildren, cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, close friends and family.
