Funeral for Gaines Lee Brewer, 66, of Moulton will be Thursday, May 8, 2014, at 4 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with O.D. Bowling officiating. Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Brewer died Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at home. He was born January 21, 1948, in Moulton to Gilbert and Ollie Brewer. Gaines went to work at Amoco Chemicals at an early age, retiring after 40-plus years in 2009. He very much enjoyed his job and cherished the memories and lifelong friends he made. He also farmed and very much enjoyed teaching his sons and grandsons his love for the land. He was a dedicated family man, and his life was always centered around providing for them. He was also a member of County Line Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Adair Brewer; two sons, Lee Brewer and his wife, Michelle, and Stephen Brewer; three brothers, Raymond Brewer, Norman Brewer and Tony Brewer; and two grandsons, Austin and Blake Brewer.
Pallbearers will be Jason Adair, Jerome Zahnd, Leonard Pearson, Kelly Meek, Max Hester and Bradley Puckett.
Honorary pallbearers will be current and former employees at BP/Amoco Chemicals.
