Frederick Wayne Gipson Profile Photo Pastor Frederick Wayne Gipson of Trenton, Alabama, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday while surrounded by his loving family. A devoted man of faith, Pastor Gipson faithfully served the Lord in ministry for many years. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Army.

Fred never met a stranger and had a genuine love for people. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those who were struggling, whether by offering encouragement, providing a meal, or simply being there when someone needed a friend. He had a special place in his heart for the homeless and those who were down on their luck. Fred loved children and had a great sense of humor that brought joy to those around him. Known for his playful spirit and practical jokes, he could always be counted on to bring a smile and laughter to family, friends, and all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James W. & Nellie G. Gipson; his brother-in-law, Steven D. Woodard; his sister-in-law, Brenda Osman; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clifton & Delores Tomes.

Surviving family members include his wife of 47 years, Patricia Gipson; his daughters and sons-in-law, Chasity & Edward Daugherty, Angela & Christopher Nelson, Jessi & Tony Lee; his grandchildren: Autumn Taylor Ball, Chase Thompson, Jaxon Lee, Brittany Clark, Eugene Daugherty, Tristan Daugherty; three great-grandchildren: Kash, Brody, and Lucas; his sister, Kim Woodard and his brother, Marvin & Kathy Massey; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 3pm until 5pm at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, June 8, 2026 at 1pm at the funeral home with Pastor Terry Sanders officiating. Burial will follow the service and will be in Ford’s Chapel Cemetery.
