It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jason Lynn Thornton, 54, of Rogersville. He passed away September 14, 2026 at Huntsville Hospital. Jason was born June 28, 1972 in Florence, AL and a graduate of Lauderdale County High School Class of 1990. He dedicated his life to his family and their family business, Thornton Farms. Jason proudly served on the Board of Directors at Associated Growers. He will be greatly missed, and cherished for years to come.
A visitation will be held Saturday, September 19th from 12-3 at Rogersville Funeral Home with the funeral service following in the chapel. The burial will be held in the adjoining cemetery. Pallbearers will be Grayson Thornton, Jamie Davis, Chris Hice, Michael Murphy, Brent Roberson and Michael White.
Jason is proceeded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Thornton; and father, Buster Lee Thornton. He is survived by his sons, Grant Thornton and Grayson (Makenzie) Thornton; granddaughter, Campbell Thornton; brothers, Mark (Rhonda) Thornton and Randy (Faye) Thornton; nieces, Tosha (Corey) Matlock, Shena Word and Dana (Chris) Simmons; nephew, Matt (Tanya) Thornton; great nephews, Titus Thornton and Case Matlock; great nieces, Tatum and Tilly Thornton; as well as numerous friends that were considered family.
