Fred Olie Thomas Fred Olie Thomas, age 82, a resident of Culleoka, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Lifecare Center.

 

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Thomas officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Friendship Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023, from 2:00 – 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

A native of Maury County, Fred was born on March 21, 1941, and was the son of the late Norma Matthew Thomas and the late Cora Lee Davis Thomas. He dedicated thirty-three years of his life as a school bus driver for Santa Fe School and Culleoka School.  Fred was married many years to Elaine Harvey Thomas who preceded him in death on May 2, 2016. He was a passionate baseball player and a devoted Atlanta Braves fan. An enthusiastic outdoorsman, he found joy in farming, gardening, and deer hunting, with a special love for coon hunting. He had a great sense of humor, always picking on family members and making others laugh. Fred was a devoted member of Pentecostal Church of Christ. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

 

He is survived by his children, Donnie Walls of Columbia, David Walls of Columbia, Sherry (Todd) Tate of Columbia, Sharon Osborne of Columbia, Karen Potts of Columbia, Kathy Thomas of Culleoka, brothers, Ollie (Shelby) Thomas of Columbia, Houston Thomas of Culleoka, twelve grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Winnie McKennon and Norman Thomas, Jr.

 

Pallbearers will be Jason Osborne, Jesse Rich, Daniel Walls, Brent Norman, Wesley Sanders, Cody Hines, and Dalton Walls.
