Fred Allen Stevens – Obituary

Fred Allen Stevens, 68, died Friday, August 3, 2018 in Chickasaw County. Fred was born on January 3, l950 in Okolona to the late Raymond Allen Stevens and Addine Hankins Stevens. He graduated from Okolona High School and joined the U. S. Navy where he served in the Persian Gulf. War. He spent his working career in Insurance Sales with most of his time being employed by the Combined Insurance Company. He won numerous awards for his hard work and was the company’s leading agent several years running. A member of the First Baptist Church of Okolona, he enjoyed the outdoors and camping. A graveside service will be held at 6 PM Monday, August 6, 2018, in the New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery west of Okolona with burial to follow. Visitation will follow the graveside service. Holland Funeral Directors-Okolona Chapel is assisting the family. Fred is survived by a son, Rusty Self of Guntown; step sons, Michael Alexander (Kim) and James Alexander (Michelle) all of Houston. 1 step granddaughter, Dusty Alexander of Vardaman. His brothers, Earl Wayne Stevens (Lazette) of Amory and Mark Stevens (Sharon) of Houston. Several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother, Harold Stevens and 3 sisters, Johnnie Ruth Bray,
Betty Joyce Reed and Mary Beth Boyd.
