Frank James Poston Sr., age 69, of Nauvoo, Alabama, formerly of Cookeville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025. He was born on March 2, 1956, in Messina New York to the late Andrew “Papa” Poston and Annette “Nana” Poston. Frank is preceded in death by his father, Andrew Poston.
He is survived by his loving mother, Annette Poston; sons: Frank James Poston Jr. (Heather), Jonathan Andrew Poston (Natalie), Jeremy Camp (Tracy), and Derek Camp (Jasmine); grandchildren: Adleigh Kait Poston, Grayson Andrew Poston, Gunner James Poston, Sawyer Kilgore (Indaniah), Savannah Kilgore, Eli “Sammy” Kilgore, Jayce Camp, and Emily Camp; great-grandson: Khoen Kilgore; brother: Jerry Poston (Frieda); nieces: Amanda Manley (Travis) and Sarah Short (Dusty); great-nieces: Paizley and Harper Short.
Frank spent much of his career working in construction, employed by Wright Brothers Construction and Ellard Contracting, and concluded his career at Coal Valley coal mines. A man who never met a stranger, Frank was known for his warmth, easygoing nature, and love for his family. His happiest times were spent traveling and being surrounded by those he loved most.
In his younger years, Frank enjoyed playing the guitar and sharing music with friends and family.
Funeral services will be held at Living Light Church Of God In Jasper Alabama on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 7:00 PM Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until time of service. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Jasper, Alabama on Wednesday July 9,2025 at 10:00 AM.
Officiating will be Tyler Keene, Chad Beavers, Larry Cunningham and Hollis Alexander.
Frank’s legacy of love and laughter will live on in all who knew him.
