Funeral Services for Mr. Francis “Junebug” Grogan Jr, age 76 of Ashland, were held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Jody Cole and Rev. Wayne Hester officiating. Burial took place in the Clay County Memory Gardens. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the family request that all who plan to attend the service, wear a mask and practice social distancing.
Mr. Grogan passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the Clay County Hospital. Junebug was a good husband, dad and grandpa and he enjoyed life and loved his Lord and church. He worked for Wellborn Cabinets for thirty five years and retired. He had a small shop where he loved working on his many friends cars and also enjoyed going camping with his family at wind creek. Junebug loved his family and always wanted the best for them. His four grandsons were the highlight of his life, especially when they helped him in the shop. He enjoyed playing cards on the computer and of course he loved his little dog, Scooter that was his little companion always. He and Judy were married nearly fifty years and it was a blessing for them each year. He loved his two daughters and always tried to help them in any way he could. He was a great man and was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church.
Junebug was survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Judy Grogan of Ashland; two daughters: Robbie Sealey (Jimmy) of Wadley and Bobbie Lynn Cox (Glenn) of Ashland; four grandsons: Joshua Steven Sealey (Wesley), Caleb Matthew Sealey, Corey Glenn Cox (Nicole) and Chad Phillip Cox; two great-grandchildren: Cohen Reid Cox and Claire Elise Cox; two sisters: Jo Ann Hurst and Mary McClellan, both of Ashland; two brothers: Jimmy Grogan (Lilo) of Ashland and Billy Grogan (Janet) of Cragford; plus a large extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Phillip Grogan Sr. and Mildred Frances Neville, and two sisters, Peggy Hendon and Shirley Grant.
Active Pallbearers will be Mike Maples, Johnny Horn, Bud Jacks, David Davis, Doug Moody, and Ricky Hendon.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Brewer and Sherrill Hendon.
