Funeral service for Frances Pruett Dye, 94 of Cullman will be at 2 p.m., Monday, May 26th, 2014 at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel, The Revs. Jimmy Baker and Ed Robertson officiating with interment in Simcoe Methodist Cemetery.
Cullman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Dye passed away Saturday, May 24th, at The Folsom Center She was born August 4, 1919 to parents, William Collins Pruett & Maye Akin Pruett. She was a member of Simcoe Baptist Church and sang in the Sanctuary Choir. She was honored to be invited to sing in the Wallace State Choir accompanied by the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. She graduated from Fairview High School and attended Wallace State College where she made the Dean’s List. She was a licensed cosmetologist employed by the Cullman Beauty Shop. She was fond of flowers and completed a course in floral designing and worked at Richter Florist in Cullman. She also worked at the Blue Bell Plant in Arab, Alabama. Frances was an active member of the Cattleman’s Cowbell Association and served as Secretary Treasurer. She was awarded first place in several Baking Bee contests.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Dye; daughter, Andrea Dye; Brother, Clomar Pruett; Nephew, Jerry Pruett.
Survivors include her sister, Ruth Craft of Arab, Alabama and several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be Monday from 12-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
