Mrs. Frances Patterson, 82, of Hazel Green, passed away on Sunday.

She owned and operated Fran’s Upholstery for over 20 years and specialized in antique furniture. She loved her family very much and was devoted to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren., and great-great-grandchildren. She was a Christian and was part of the Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Patterson Jr; By her parents, Preston Franklin & Zana Lee Franklin; Her brothers: John Franklin, Emmett “Red” Franklin, Jim Franklin, and Clyde Franklin.

Surviving family members include her husband of 64 years, Orris J. Patterson Sr; Her sons: Joey Patterson and Michael Patterson Sr.; Her grandson, Trey (Kim) Patterson; Her great-grandchildren: Brandon Patterson, Kylee (Dustin) Sherrill, Joseph Patterson, and Jack Patterson; Her great-great-grandchildren: Michael Reese Sherrill and Kyndall Rose Sherrill. Her daughters-in-law, Patricia Campbell and Jacqueline Street. Her brother-in-law, Dickey (Faye) Patterson; Her sister-in-law, Bobbie Jean Patterson.

The family would like to thank Mrs. Patterson’s caregivers, Jacqueline Street and Kim Patterson, along with Southerncare Hospice, especially Nurse Megan.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10am until Noon at Hazel Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at Noon at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Jerome and Pastor Lon Ostrzycki officiating. Burial will then be in Charity Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jack Campbell, Jack Patterson, Joseph Patterson, Brandon Patterson, Dustin Sherrill, and Jayce Crook.
