Forrest Randolph “Randy” Hairston. Sr, 84, passed away on August 22, 2025 in Huntsville, AL . Randy was born on October 29, 1940 to Lorene Hooten Hairston and Forrest Braxton Hairston in Birmingham, AL
He is survived by his loving wife, Lynda Cooke Hairston, one son, Forrest R. Hairston, Jr., one granddaughter, Mary Kathryn Hairston of Chapin, SC, two sisters, Dee Ann Creel of Huntsville and Ellen Hampsten of California, several nieces and nephews, cousins and one aunt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Jefferson Darwin Hairston and one sister, Dana Chambers.
Randy was always a perfect gentleman, a wonderful father, a loving grandfather but most of all the most loving and caring husband anyone could ever have.
Randy graduated from the University of Alabama. He always had a good sense of humor and always said he was the only reason Coach Bear Bryant came to Alabama.
He owned several businesses, dealt in land development and was also a financial consultant until he retired.
He was a member of the Owens Cross Roads Church of Christ and loved his church and all its members.
Visitation will be at the Owens Cross Roads Church of Christ on Wednesday, August 27 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 noon. Memorial service will begin at Noon on the same day.
