Forrest “Billy” Austin, 74, of Corinth, MS, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Alcorn County, MS on April 27, 1943 to the late Hurshel and Maudie Sebring Austin and graduated from Kossuth High School. Billy was a member of Friendship Baptist Church where he led the singing for over 25 years. He retired from Caterpillar where he had worked as an inspector for several years. He will forever be remembered in the hearts of those he loved. Visitation is scheduled from 10 AM till 1 PM, Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Magnolia Funeral Home. A celebration of Billy’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 1 PM at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories officiated by Charlie Browning and Bro. Warren Jones. Interment will follow in Lorraine Baptist Church Cemetery. Those left to honor Billy’s memory include his son: Billy Austin of Corinth, MS; his brother: Jimmy Austin of Corinth, MS; his sister: Mable Johnson of Huntsville, AL; his sister-in-law: Linda Austin of Corinth, MS; other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years: Peggy Davis Austin; his brother: Steve Austin and his brother-in-law: Roy Johnson.
